A run down of some of the albums I aim to listen to in this, the month of March. There may well be some reviews posted about some of these, so keep your eyes peeled.

I’m quite the fan of gentle, melancholy, minor chord piano music, especially to chuck on headphones laying in bed at night. So the Phillip Glass and Chilly Gonzales albums are intended for that use. The inclusion of The Handsome Family is due to the use of one of the songs as the main theme music to True Detective.

Exitmusic get a listen because they are fronted by Aleksa Palladino, the actress in Boardwalk Empire and Adam Green and Binki Shapiro because she seems like my ‘cup of tea’. And I have to give new releases by Matthew E. White and The Head and The Heart a listen because I loved their previous work.

If you choose to try any of this stuff out yourselves, enjoy!

About thomasjford

I like Movies and Music and most things popular culture.

  1. Philip Glass composes such amazing music.

  2. I love the True Detective song, now I know what its called!

  3. Big fan of Philip Glass as well! 🙂

  4. I love Philip Glass. I remember him way-back-when when everyone was scratching their head wondering what to do with synthesizers and piano. He sure knew back then, and he sure knows now what to do! Love his music!
